Getting approved with under ten thousand followers

The most common reason people do not apply is that they assume they are too small. Venues are not buying follower counts, and they have learned the hard way that a large account with a distant audience is worth less to them than a small one with a local following. Here is what a review actually looks at.

Why the number stopped being the answer

A venue does not need reach. It needs people who can walk in. An account with fifty thousand followers spread across four continents delivers almost none of those, and a venue that has tried it once knows.

What has replaced the follower count is a set of things that are harder to fake: whether the audience is actually nearby, whether the engagement matches the size of the account, and whether the work is any good.

What we review

A profile is read rather than scored. In practice that comes down to four things.

  • Content quality. Whether the photographs and the edits are ones a business would be happy to be in.
  • Consistency. Whether you post often enough that a venue can predict what they will get.
  • Audience. Where the people who follow you actually are, and whether they respond.
  • Fit. Whether the places you already make content about resemble the places on the platform.

Three things that change a decision

None of these need a bigger account, and all of them are visible in an afternoon.

  • Make the first nine posts look like a body of work. That grid is the whole first impression, and a run of unrelated posts reads as somebody who has not decided what they do.
  • Put where you are in the bio. A venue is trying to work out whether your audience can reach them, and the fastest way to answer that is to say where you live.
  • Show one thing you are actually good at. Food, interiors, movement, people. Being clearly good at one thing beats being adequate at five.

What a completed collab does for the next one

Every collab you finish is attached to your record, and that record is what the next business reads. Turning up, delivering on time and posting what was agreed is worth more to your access than any single follower milestone.

It also travels. The record follows you into every location Claris runs, so work done in Bali counts when you land in Bangkok.

There is no follower minimum, it is free for creators, and we review what you make rather than what you count.
